How can we help?

New to TryMyPro? · Before you join

Before you sign up

On this page

The questions people ask before they join TryMyPro. Once you are in, the how-to guides answer the rest, one task at a time: for customers and for businesses.

For everyone

What is TryMyPro?

TryMyPro helps you find a local service business — a plumber, a mechanic, a dentist, an accountant — through the people you already trust. You add friends and family to your network. When somebody in it vouches for a business, that business shows a gold outline and a card saying Why you can trust them, and the Trusted chip, which is on when you open Find, shows just those businesses first; a line under them offers everyone else. See How do I tell whether a business is any good?

There are two apps: TryMyPro, for customers, and TryMyPro for Pros, for businesses and the people who work at them.

What is the difference between a Provider and a Professional?

A customer can rate both: the business, and the professional who did the work.

Is there a version for a computer?

No. Both apps are phone apps, for iPhone and Android. A few things open in any browser, on a phone or a computer: a business’s own page, the review form a business sends its customers, and the map a business uses to adjust where it works.

Will my personal details be shared?

The number or email you sign in with is how friends and family find you on TryMyPro, and the start screen says “we never share it with anyone”. Everything TryMyPro does with your information is set out in the privacy policy.

Who do I ask when something goes wrong?

Email support@trymy.pro.

For customers

Do I pay anything?

No. TryMyPro is free for customers.

What do I need to join?

A phone, and your own mobile number or email. There is no password: TryMyPro texts or emails you a six-digit code each time you sign in, and the first time, the same code makes your account. See How do I sign in?

For businesses

How much does it cost?

$200 a month for each business, and every professional on your team is included at no charge: the invoice lists each of them at $0.00. If you have a code, the Plan step takes it before you pay. See Step 4: Choose your plan, pay, and go live

What do I need to sign up?

TryMyPro for Pros on your phone, your own mobile number or email to sign in with, your business’s name, email, address and opening hours, and a card to pay with. The app looks your business up and fills in most of it. Nothing is created, and nothing is charged, until the last step. See Getting started with TryMyPro for Pros

Can I cancel?

Yes. In TryMyPro for Pros, tap your picture (top right), then Billing, then Cancel plan. Your plan stays on until the end of the time you have paid for, then ends: nothing more is charged, and nothing is refunded. That is the end of the month, or, if you joined with the Launch Campaign, the end of the six months you paid $100 for. Billing then shows the day it ends. The button is there for the owner, and for anyone the owner lets manage billing.

What if I do not have a shop or an office?

When you sign up, answer Where do you work? with We travel to them, and give the ZIP code you travel from and how many miles you cover. You still give an address: it is one of the required details. Afterwards your service area can reach up to 100 miles, or be your own list of ZIP codes.

Can I list more than one location?

Yes. Each location is a business of its own, with its own page and its own plan, all under one account: Add Another Provider is in the menu behind your picture, and Switch profile moves you between them.

Can I hide a bad review?

No. A customer’s star ratings count at once, and a business cannot change or hide them. The words wait for you to approve them before they appear on your page, and you cannot change what a customer wrote. See A review is not showing on my public profile. Why?

What happens when somebody leaves my team?

They come off your team and off your list of professionals. The reviews customers already left about them stay.

For people who work at a business

Does it cost me anything?

No. The business’s plan covers you, at $0.00.

Do I sign up on my own?

No. The business you work for invites you, and you accept the invitation. See Step 1: Accept the invitation

The business I work for is not on TryMyPro. Can I still join?

Not as a professional: a professional is always listed as part of a business. Ask the business to join. Meanwhile you can use TryMyPro as a customer, like anybody else.

What happens if I leave, or change jobs?

Leave and the business’s name (Leave Miles Plumbing) is in the menu behind your picture. It takes you off that business’s team and its list of professionals, and the reviews customers already left about you stay. Your next business can invite you the same way.
